J’adore Asia de Cuba

Every month my friends NICK, JANE and her fiancé CHRIS and I all get together for a group dinner and catch up.
We kinda dropped the ball on that one for a while this year getting caught up with work and personal stuff. So to end the month we all got together and headed to ASIA DE CUBA for some good food, nice atmosphere and a catch-up!
The restaurant is part of the St. Martins Lane Hotel based in Central London. The thing with me is that I always tend to choose a restaurant for its interior, then food, then value, but none of us were at all disappointed by either of those elements.
The waiting staff were the nicest people I’ve ever met and over a round of Mojitos our waiter Elli’ gave us a verbal interiors tour of the restaurant. For example, the pillars are a PHILIPPE STARCK design and are based on a french university in Africa. Each pillar of books represent a Faculty at the university.
There was also a ‘nod’ to the areas famous history in the ‘Flower Market’ trade. Each element of the design had a clear and distinct meaning.
I love catching up with the gang and it’s even better when you have an amazing menu! All in all I completely loved this restaurant and I think that no matter how hectic things get, it’s always best to just STOP. TAKE A BREATH. AND CHILL with good friends, good interiors and good food.
Two words…… MEXICAN DOUGHNUTS
