|The Hoppen Signature Style|
|Kelly’s New Store in Selfridges London|
I went to the press launch which was held at the ‘suitably-matched’ venue – The Club @ The Ivy. Buzzing with designistas, interior heads and PR reps I got to see a sneaky preview of the series. It’s full of fun, humour and mini bite-size tutorials, ideal to digest and implement in your own home. The show with its ‘fly-on-the-wall style’ follows five lucky families who get the chance for Kelly to work her ‘creative magic’ on their interior challenged homes. It certainly has some laugh-out-loud moments with some lovable characters. With budgets ranging from £7k – £75k it will definitely be a creative TV addiction for the masses.
I asked Kelly What her biggest challenge was throughout this project.
Kelly explained that when you’re dealing with other peoples lives (in interior design), you are essentially going in and helping them create a home. The home is one of the most important things in their lives which can evoke different smells, reminders of our parental home and that sense of security. It’s all about the emotions and having to cut through those different layers. This is one of the reasons why Kelly did the show.
