Kelly Hoppen MBE Launches New Store in Selfridges – London

Kelly Hoppen MBE has now brought that ‘Hoppen Magic’ to Selfridges – London with the launch of her brand new store on the 4th Floor. I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak of the space and speak to the team about this exciting chapter. Loft-Living Owner Mireille Baumgart who owns the Loft-Living space within Selfridges met Kelly Hoppen at the exclusive interiors show Maison & Objet in Paris. After being blown away by her interior style and the sophistication of the Hoppen collection –  the rest was history.

As you know, I consider Kelly Hoppen as my mentor and I adore not only her style but her unique attention to detail, quality and her love for antiques and textures. Having grown up in South Africa, Kelly developed her inspiration and love of antiques from her Grandma’s interior style. The inspiration and essence of Kelly Hoppens’ collection is ‘vintage’ and emulates that ‘Classic English vintage style’. The Hoppen brand has teamed up with the premium hand-craft connoisseurs Halo to manufacturer each piece. As a British brand the collaboration works well as Halo truly understands that real vintage, antique philosophy and have a strong heritage within it.
The design of each piece is 100% Hoppen style, each is hand made and hand finishes to a high standard using natural dyes to give that quality and luxurious finish. Kelly’s admiration for texture also shines through in the collection with lace, leather, satin, lacquer, linen, cow-skins all sitting well together. This is what I love about Kelly who uses and appreciates quality textures and uses them well.

Having seen the new space it just re-enforces my passion for the brand. It would be such a pleasure to work with the Hoppen studio and be taken under the wing of someone who I admire and appreciate for their philosophy and passion for textures and extensive knowledge of interiors.
